More than 150 golfers and dozens of volunteers braved typical, fluctuating late-summer Colorado weather at The Ranch Country Club in Westminster on Tuesday, Sept. 9, to raise more than $67,000 to support integrated health services at Community Reach Center.

“This year’s tournament was picture perfect,” said Community Reach Center’s Chief Executive Officer Rick Doucet. “The morning teams had perfect weather – even a rainbow that lingered over the course – and the afternoon saw only a small amount of rain that cleared and provided cool temperatures for the afternoon players. And everyone knew we were golfing for an excellent cause — to provide integrated mental-health services for the community.”

The Reach for the Green 34th Annual Golf Tournament in Memory of Mary and Donald C. Ciancio will help Community Reach fund integrated care programs for children, adults and families. Community Reach currently provides integrated services at Salud Family Health Centers, Clinica Campesina, Westminster Medical Clinic and Rocky Mountain Youth Clinic.

Community Reach hosted two flights. The winners of the morning flight were Brad Harvey, Rob Webber, James Wertz and Mike Snyder of the Horizons North Credit Union team, of Northglenn. The winners of the afternoon flight were Carl Nassimbene, Rob Marinelli, Guy Graham and Adam Steinbach of the Allied Recycled Aggregates team, of Commerce City.

The annual Donald C. Ciancio Philanthropic Award was presented to Genoa Healthcare, a Community Reach partner and primary sponsor of the golf tournament. Another lead sponsor was Rocky’s Autos, among at least 20 other sponsors.
The golf tournament is dedicated to longtime Community Reach supporter and tournament founder Donald C. Ciancio and his mother, Mary Ciancio. Donald C. Ciancio founded the golf tournament in 1980 and worked tirelessly on it every year. Mary Ciancio was a champion of mental health and one of the founding supporters of Community Reach Center.

Next year’s golf tournament is slated for September 15, 2015.
