Community Reach Center recently hired Tamara Player as its Chief Operating Officer (COO). Player is a licensed clinical social worker with more than 20 years of experience working in the community mental-health field as a direct care provider and in a leadership role. She recently held the COO position at a mental health center with a similar staff size and mission in northern Maine.

“When I first learned about Community Reach Center, I was excited to see the innovation, focus on wellness and commitment to our consumers, community partners and continuous quality improvement,” Player says. “I am so pleased to be a part of the team at Community Reach Center and look forward to continuing the excellent work that happens every day across our center.”

Player will oversee the daily operations at Community Reach, a non-profit, mental-health center with five Adams County outpatient offices – in Brighton, Commerce City, Northglenn, Thornton and Westminster. Its mission is to “enhance the health of our community” by providing services that include individual and group therapy, early childhood and school-based services, substance abuse treatment, emergency services and therapeutic support groups.

Community Reach Center served more than 10,000 unduplicated clients during the 2012-13 fiscal year. The Center is committed to integrating mental healthcare with primary healthcare to support the overall health of its clients: Therapists are embedded in several primary-care offices throughout the community. Additionally, the affiliated Mountainland Pediatrics Inc. provides primary pediatric care for children from birth through age 21 and is co-located with Community Reach Center’s Child Development Center in Thornton.
