Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is an evidence-based public health training. The MHFA Adult Module covers signs and behaviors associated with behavioral health issues and emerging mental health crisis in adults. The Youth MHFA Module is geared for any adult who interacts with teens and covers the same content regarding youth 12 to 18 years of age. MHFA training is designed for the general public – ANYONE can benefit from MHFA training.
Curriculum includes:
- Risk factors and warning signs of mental health problems, including suicide.
- Information on depression, anxiety, trauma, psychosis, and addiction disorders.
- A 5-step action plan to help someone experiencing a crisis.
- Resources for help – including Hot Lines, professional care, peer specialists and self-help resources.
